It’s Been a Whole Month

Heyo everyone! Crazy—it’s already been a whole month, so we thought it’d be a great idea to look back with a month-in-review. Before we dive in, thank you all for joining us and contributing to the lovely community we’ve already built. We’re super excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to keep making awesome things for everyone to experience.

What Have We Achieved So Far

The first month of Hytale’s release has been a super busy one for us here at Runeteria. We’ve practically been emergency hotfixing things left and right since day one—and honestly, we’re still doing that almost daily. This did slow down some of the custom features we hoped to have out already, but stability and security will always come first.
 

That said, I think we’ve done quite well for ourselves! Thanks to the hard work of our team, we’ve launched one of the first unique dungeons out there—complete with bespoke boss encounters and unique weaponry. If you haven’t tried Hollow Crypts yet, we highly recommend grabbing some friends and giving it a go!
 

On the more technical side, we’ve implemented cross-server chat and interlinked inventories across all our servers. For us, this was essential before adding more servers, because we want everything to feel like one connected world. No system is flawless, so we’re continuing to streamline the pipeline and squash the remaining bugs.
 

First impressions matter, and I’m so happy with what the team has achieved on the building front! I genuinely think we’re one of the best-looking Hytale servers out there when it comes to that initial wow-factor. Not only does our hub look interesting and unique—so do all our realm lobbies. We can’t wait to expand them even more with unique shops and quests in the near future!
 



What Have We Learnt So Far

As mentioned, the month in review highlighted a few performance-related surprises. We’ve been battling various bugs and issues since day one—and we still are. That obviously pushed a few plans back from our preferred timeline, but we’re still going strong. There are plenty of performance hiccups and some client crashes that are outside our control. We’ve reported all of these and are hoping for fixes from the Hytale team in the coming weeks.
 

Our biggest technical headaches have been economy-related issues and occasional inventory rollbacks. We believe most of these are now in a stable place, with only minor hiccups here and there. We’re also adding a few extra safeguards to help ensure they don’t crop up again.
 

On the roadmap front, we’re actually moving into Phase 2 faster than expected! It turns out that, given how Hytale is built, some systems we thought would take longer were actually easier to pull off than anticipated.
 



Now, What’s Next

Over the next month, we’ve got a bunch of things up our sleeve. While we won’t spill all the details just yet, we can share that we’re working on features related to our custom guild system, skills, and potentially classes too. There may also be some new weapon and ability goodies in the mix—more info coming soon!
 

We’ll continue focusing on stability because offering a smooth, enjoyable gameplay experience is our top priority. We want you to love your time on Runeteria, and by offering multiple realms in most regions, we’re aiming for a consistently smooth, lag-free experience.
